LTM’s Spectrum Roundel
A review was recently undertaken on the identity of the London Transport Museum branding, and the outcome was a redesign, by applying the word ‘MUSEUM’ into the iconic TfL roundel and using a ‘spectrum’ infill to reflect the experiential nature of the Museum, as one of London’s most successful museums.
They wanted to re-imagine Edward Johnston’s iconic 100-year-old marque, ensuring they are a part of the story while also standing out. And so, this beautifully eyecatching spectrum roundel was created! The colours are bright and energetic – representing the creativity of London and its vibrant transport history.
A.J Wells is an exclusive specialist supplier of signage for TfL, so were asked to develop drawings for the application, and then surveying, designing, manufacturing, transporting and installating the finished Illuminated Spectrum Roundel.
It has been a real labour of love for our team and everyone absolutely loves the final result. We are sure you will too and recommend seeing it in person to truly appreciate is beauty.
