Re-enamelling
Range Cooker Re-Enamelling
At AJ Wells & Sons, we’re proud to offer a complete re-enameling service for cast iron range cookers of all makes and sizes. Whether it’s a two-door model that’s been the heart of your kitchen for decades or a larger four-door cooker in need of a refresh, we can restore and renovate it to its former glory.
With over 60 years of experience in vitreous enamel, we apply the same precision and care to restoration as we do to our architectural and signage projects. Every cooker is treated individually, using traditional techniques and fired to exacting standards in our Isle of Wight facility.
Our Process

A.J Wells offer a complete re-enamelling service on cast iron range cookers, baths, stoves and cooker parts. Vitreous enamel is an exceptional surface finish ideal for these types of product due to its heat resilience, stability and hygienic properties.
Each cooker fascia is carefully dismantled, and the original enamel is removed through controlled shot blasting. The surface is then prepared and refinished using hand-sprayed vitreous enamel—fired at temperatures over 800°C to create a highly durable, glossy finish.
The result is a surface that is not only beautiful but built to last: resistant to heat, stains, and wear, just as it was designed to be.
